Taiwanese AUO has succeeded in building a solar power plant at its Lungke premise, reported Economic Daily News on March 23. Grid-connected on December 2016 and built within a year, the plant is established on the rooftop of its two TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) fabs with an installation area of 8.5 hectares. With approximately 30,000 kWh of electricity per day generated, it is able to provide electricity for 3,000 households and reduce 5,780 tons of carbon emissions every year, according to the same report.
